Teachers use a variety of assessment techniques to inform each students learning program and to make judgments about each student’s achievements. Teachers take samples of student work and moderate in year levels to ensure consistent expectations and marks/grades are given. Students are involved in goal setting and tracking and monitoring of their own grades.
Prep year
Our Prep student's progress will be communicated through Parent/Teacher interviews (Term 1 and 3) and report cards (Term 2 and 4). This aligns with the rest of the school. Whilst some subjects are covered e.g. English, Maths, Science and History, the areas of the Early Years Curriculum are included.
We encourage parents/carers to be in regular contact with the class teacher throughout the year.
Report cards: Years P–6
Formal written reports on all key learning areas will be sent home in June and December. Teachers will offer 2 interviews a year to have more in depth discussion about your child's progress.
NAPLAN (Year 3 and 5 National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy)
All schools take part in National Testing each year. This normally occurs mid May. Parents will receive a report on their child's progress relative to National Standards later in that year.
Visit the
NAPLAN website for more information.
