Religious Instruction

Religious Instruction lessons for Years 4 & 5 will commence in Term 2 on Monday 15th April 2013 from 1.30 pm -2.30 pm and gradually move through other year levels.
Religious Instruction Cooperative Agreement
Religious leaders in the community have elected to join together and have established a Cooperative Agreement (Christian faith groups only), for the delivery of Religious Instruction lessons in some year levels at Kruger State School.   This means that if your child participates in Religious Instruction they will be placed in a combined Christian faith group with any one of the members participating in the Agreement, rather than the actual faith group nominated on the enrolment form.
An overview of The Religious Instruction Program - Compiled by Paul Stiles Co-ordinator of the Religious Co-operative  Group
The programme is designed for children from any faith or non-faith background.  The Program aims to:
  • Enable an understanding of basic Christian ideas and the values that underpin them.
  • Note the worth of these values as contributing to positive individual and community living.
  • Enable skills in dealing with and reading the Bible.
  • As a state legislated program, RI tries to help children better understand some of the faith ideas they will come across in their communities, or that they might hold themselves. Values that receive focus include courage, trustworthiness, freedom, forgiveness, compassion and inclusion to name a few.
We will be introducing the students to, or reinforcing the learning they already have about God, Jesus and the Bible.  And see what values are talked about in the lessons.
