Focus on: parent/teacher interviews and student gotcha celebration day

Parent/Teacher Interviews

Tuesday the 13th of September

from 3:00-7:00pm

This term, Parent/Teacher interviews are going to look a little different to normal!  We are going to trial a new, more efficient system that is based on community, parent and teacher feedback.

For the afternoon/night of the 13th of September, Kruger parents will be able to select a 10 minute timeslot, during which they can discuss their child’s progress and any areas of concern.  At the completion of each timeslot, a bell will be sounded, which will signal a 2 minute transition time to prepare for the next Parent interview with the Teacher.

Parents have been using our new online booking system (SOBS) to make bookings with their child’s Teacher/s.    Bookings are still open now and will close on Friday the 9th of September at 1pm.  This is the same online booking system used by Redbank Plains State High School, so some families may already be familiar with it!

At this community event, some of our specialist Teachers will also be available and so there will be opportunities for informal discussions about your child/children’s progress outside of the classroom in specialist lessons.  Bookings for these Specialist Teachers are not required.

The Kruger P&C Association will be hosting a BBQ and so food and drinks will be available for purchase!

Student Gotcha Celebration Day – Thursday the 15th of September

Term 3 Celebration Day for students is going to be very rewarding and SUPER EXCITING!

Students in Prep who earn 50+ Gotchas will be attending a very special ‘Magic Show’ performance by Johnny the Jester.  Johnny has been to Kruger in previous years and some of the older students still talk about how much they enjoyed his show!

Students in Years 1 – 6 who earn 75+ Gotchas will be entitled to attend (with parental permission) a carnival ride session with their class.  We have booked super slides, super swings, an inflatable obstacle castle and laser tag.  These rides will be set up at school on the top oval and will have very strict guidelines for usage so that everyone is kept safe.  Classes will be allocated a timeslot throughout the day on Thursday the 15th of September and they will be rotated through the rides with their Class Teacher.  Parental permission notes need to be returned to your child’s classroom teacher as soon as possible please!

These celebration activities are provided at NO COST TO PARENTS and are funded by the school.  Well done to the many, many students who have worked very hard to uphold the school expectations and earn their Gotchas!
