Focus on - Year 4 ICT - Emma Drover (Librarian)

Our Year 4 students have one hour each week dedicated to an ICT class.ur Year 4 students have one hour each week dedicated to an ICT class.

An EdStudio has been created in The Learning Place and you can access all the activities, PowerPoints, video clips and hyperlinks to learning activities. We encourage the students to visit their EdStudio at home to review, catch up or continue to improve their skills in this area.

In Term I, we:

  • Learnt about the V-Library catalogue,
  • Worked on improving the speed and accuracy of our keyboarding skills
  • Practiced our Internet Research Skills

In Term II, we:

  • Will learn about Cybersafety and Netiquette
  • Contribute to a Cybersafety Blog and post responses to blogs
  • Create a PowerPoint Presentation

There will also be opportunities to continue to improve keyboarding skills, with our goal being that all Year 4 students can type 30 words a minute by the end of Term II.

A PowerPoint presentation is part of students’ English and History Term II assessment piece and they will spend time in ICT classes working on the drafting process and technical aspects of a PowerPoint presentation. They will also have classroom time to finalise and polish their work under their teacher’s guidance.
